1. Spicy Food

If you love having spicy hot food, chances are, you tend to be a risk taker who likes to to experiment and explore.

According to a study presented at the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Annual Meeting & Food Expo. Spicy foods set off pain receptors, which should serve as a deterrent to eating them, yet for some people, that is precisely what they are going for. The researchers found that people who love their food spicy hot are also adrenaline junkies, desiring novel and intense stimulation.

2. Sweet and Sour Foods

According to Alanna Kessler, RD, a certified dietitian nutritionist in New York City and founder of Be Well, people who seek out the combination of sweet and sour foods when they are feeling restless, or anxious may get overwhelmed easily. However, they are also good at bringing balance back to your lives quickly.

3. New foods and flavours

If you are always the first one to check out the latest new food or flavour even if such new tastes may sound odd or random, you are likely a risk-taker. According to Kessler, if you are always wanting to try new things, you would tend to crave adventure and might be easily bored.

Seeking out and trying exotic or rare foods means that you’re someone who loves a challenge and loves learning new things. Being willing to try out ‘scary’ or new foods display an innate curiosity and a desire to learn about other cultures and cuisines.

4. If you have a sweet tooth

People who adore sweet treats often have a child-like innocence or a sense of wonder. Such people are joyful and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Such people also tend to be affectionate. The sweet flavour triggers a release of oxytocin, also known as the “cuddle” or “love” hormone, according to a study done by the Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior.

5. Salty food

If you crave potato chips, your body may actually be telling you that you have a mineral deficiency and need to get more potassium, calcium, and iron into your diet.

That aside, it has been said that people who love salt tend to like to go with the flow, but still get frustrated with life’s little annoyances, such as not being able to get a spot out on their clothing or getting stuck in traffic. They are also said to be competitive and ambitious.

Whether any of the above is true or not, we suggest that you take it as a bit of fun and with a pinch of salt!
